When Kingwood Rotarian Laura Valladares, a counselor at a local elementary school, told us about their school's "Angel Tree" our members jumped at the chance to get involved.
Several of us took the Angel Tree cards for each child, which included their age and size, we we purchased clothing, toys and candy for 28 children. At one of our weekly meetings we sorted and packed the presents into gift bags for Laura to bring to school.
Laura called and asked the moms to come to the school and she presented them with the gifts for their children on Christmas morning. The moms were so surprised and excited that they would be able see their children's surprised faces on Christmas morning.
This project was special to all of our members and we loved every minute of creating a surprise for the children.
