History of the Kingwood 4th of July Parade:

Want to promote your business, club, team or non-profit in the parade?

*Parade starts at 10 AM, but arrive before 9 AM to avoid street closures along parade route.
Parade should end around noon based upon number of entries in parade.

Parade Route:
Starts at: Creekwood Middle School, 3603 W Lake Houston Parkway (both southbound lanes will be closed to through traffic)
Ends at: Kingwood High School, 2701 Kingwood Drive (both westbound lanes from W. Lake Houston Pkwy to Kingwood HS will be closed to through traffic)
9 AM Street Closures by Houston Police Department:
At 9 AM, Houston Police officers will close both southbound lanes of W Lake Houston Parkway starting at Creekwood Middle School to the intersection of Kingwood Drive and both westbound lanes of Kingwood Drive from the intersection of W Lake Houston Parkway to Kingwood High School.

Parking:
METRO Park & Ride in Kingwood: 3210 W. Lake Houston Pkwy
The lot is on the northbound lanes of the street so you'll need to walk across the median to the southbound lanes for the parade.

Bring:
Lawnchairs, pickic blanket, coolers with beverages, snacks, umbrella/pop-up tent, sunscreen, caps/hats, etc.
Our additional FREE Events on July 4th:
Bring your kids so they can participate.
Trophies will be awarded by the judges!
1) FREE Kid's Fishing Rodeo for kids age 15 & younger
7 AM - 8:30 AM - July 4th
No Registration Required!
This event will be held at the Foster's Mill Village ponds at the corner of Kingwood Drive & Forest Garden. Kids age 15 and younger are invited to bring their fishing gear to the ponds and compete for trophies in different categories.
No State of Texas Fishing License is required for anyone under 15-years of age, and registration is not required.
2) FREE Kid's Bicycle Decoration Contest Rodeo
9 AM - July 4th
No Registration Required!
Held in the parking lot at the Kingwood Bible Church at 3610 W Lake Houston Pkwy (on the corner of Oakwood Forest and Lake Houston Parkway), across from Creekwood Middle School. Kids are invited to bring their decorated bikes (decorade them before you arrive) to compete for trophies and then participate (with their parents accompanying them) in the Parade at 10 AM.
It's a great way to spend the day!

In lieu of our usual weekly meeting at The Union Kitchen, we will have an "out & about" dinner at El Jimador...and you are invited to join us. It's not unusual for our club members to get together a few times each month to have fun supporting our local businesses - friends and guests are always invited and encouraged to come join us.
We'll be back at The Union KItchen on August 11th, so if you can't attend our August 4th social, we look forward to seeing you there.

From worship services, a food pantry, a Boys & Girls Club, men and women's ministry, plus sports, music and band, this remarkable couple helps individuals and families in the northeast Houston communities.
We welcome visitors to join us to learn more about all the services provided by The Salvation Army.

Instead of meeting at The Union Kitchen this week, we're meeting at "Fuzzy Tacos & Margs" (located at the former Fuddruckers location) in Kingwood to fill "Goody Treat Bags" for our 35 judges for our 2025 Kingwood Holiday Decorating Contest. Filling the bags will be quick and then we'll get a chance to socialize at Kingwood's newest restaurant and help us fill the goody bags. On Friday, December 12th, our volunteer judges will each have a grand time making a decision which homes have gone above and beyond decorating the homes for the holidays. Kingwood Rotary Club & Kingwood Civic Club's 2025 Holiday Decorating Contest
Friday, December 12th
6 PM to 9 PM
Volunteer Judges Needed!
Kingwood has 33 villages covering over 14,000 acres...so this is a BIG contest with lots of homes beautifully decorated for the holidays!
Funds raised through our Annual July 4th Parade sponsorships funds this community-wide event awarding 165 Awards in our 33 Kingwood Villages!
Winners will receive bragging rights and a keepsake award sign in their yard.

Date of Judging: Friday, December 12th
Time: Judging is 6 PM - 9 PM
Rain or Shine!
Location: Kingwood's 33 community villages covering 14,000 acres! We'll have 1 judge for each village.
Award Presentation: Each of the 33 judges will each present the five coveted "Best..." yard signs in the village they've selected on the night of December 12th.
Public Announcement of Winners: December 13th, winners will be announced on www.KingwoodCivicClub.org and here on our Kingwood Rotary website, www.KWRotary.org, on Saturday, December 13th so you can tour the winners!

For the 22nd year, Kingwood Rotarians are honored again to help The Salvation Army by taking a shift to "Ring the Bell" to raise funds to help families in northeast Houston.
Since 2004, we've raised over $33,455 plus we've donated toys for The Salvation Army's Angel Tree for children at Christmas.
The Salvation Army Corps Community Center on Aldine Westfield Road helps families in northeast Houston throughout the year and are funded from donations. If you're interested in volunteering with us, please contact our club president, Charlie Buscemi, at 713-598-7129.

There is no meeting on December 15th, December 22nd or December 29th as we enjoy the holidays with our families.
