Our 2024 Parade Grand Marshal
We're honored to have John Whitmire, Mayor of the City of Houston, as our 2024 Parade Grand Marshal.
 
Mayor Whitmire, the former Dean of the Texas Senate, was sworn into office as Houston's 63rd Mayor on January 2, 2024. He  has served his community his entire adult life.
 

Mayor Whitmire's extraordinary life experiences, unwavering dedication, and a proven track record in getting things done make him a true public servant committed to the well-being of Houstonians.

The Kingwood Civic Club is a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization and Kingwood Rotary Club is a 501(c)4 Community Service Organization and we will once again be hosting the parade this year. 
Funding for the parade depends on sponsorships from individuals, organizations, and businesses in the community.
 
How many attendees do we have?
Between 10,000 and 11,000 cheering people line the parade route from Creekwood Middle School to Kingwood High School according to the Houston Police Traffic Control officers which always provide their services during our parade.
 
It's a great up-close and personal opportunity to promote your business, organization, or non-profit!

All parade participants and sponsors must register and complete an online application.  Visit the Kingwood Civic Club's website to register and learn more: http://kingwoodcivicclub.org/4th-of-july-parade.html.
 
As required by the City of Houston, entrants with floats or other motorized vehicles MUST provide proof of insurance when they submit their application to Kingwood Civic Club.
On July 4th, we need volunteers to assist us with the parade from 7 AM until noon.  Volunteers must be 18 or older, or parents can volunteer with their children.  This event is "Rain or Shine".

OUR PARADE ROUTE & STREET CLOSURES
The parade will start at the corner of Lake Houston Parkway and Sandy Forks (Creekwood Middle School) and will travel south on Lake Houston Parkway and turn Right onto Kingwood Drive and finish at the
Kingwood High School parking lot.

STREET CLOSURES BY HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAFFIC CONTROL
At 9:30 AM on July 4th HPD will close both southbound lanes of Lake Houston Pkwy to Kingwood Drive, and both westbound lanes of Kingwood Drive from Lake Houston Pkwy to Kingwood High School parking lot for the parade - See below for Parade Route Map.

KID'S FREE FISHING RODEO - JULY 4TH - 7 AM TO 8:30 AM
A HUGE THANK YOU to Rosati's Pizza in Kingwood for sponsoring our 2024 July 4th Kid's Fishing Rodeo.  Located in Kingwood, Rosati's is a family-friendly restaurant with a full bar that serves delicious authentic Chicago-style food from family recipes
 
This FREE event for kids age-15 and under is held July 4th at the Foster's Mill ponds at 7 AM - 8:30 AM at the corner of Kingwood Drive and Forest Garden.  Bring your fishing gear!
 
Al's Custom Rods is generously donating two (2) complete light tackle fishing rods for the Top Two Winners (one at each of the two fishing ponds)
 
Members of the Kingwood High School Bass Fishing Team has volunteered for numerous years at this event and we thank them for always doing an outstanding job helping the kids and sharing their expertise.  They'll be there again this year helping the kids during this event...and we are so thankful!  
 
No registration is required and the State of Texas does not require a Fishing License for anyone 17-years of age or younger (click here). They're invited to bring their fishing gear to the ponds and compete for trophies in different categories.

"KID'S BIKE RODEO" DECORATING CONTEST ON JULY 4TH AT 9 AM) 

 
A HUGE THANK YOU to Crew Taxes for sponsoring our 2024 July 4th Kid's Bike Rodeo.  For over 20-years they have provided tax services for all individuals and businesses with a specialty in the airline industry! 
 
The Kid's Bike Rodeo is at 9 AM in the parking lot at the Kingwood Bible Church on the corner of Oakwood Forest and Lake Houston Parkway, located across from Creekwood Middle School.
 
No registration is required.  Kids are invited to bring their decorated bikes to compete for trophies and then participate in the Parade at 10 AM with their parents.
HOUSTON CHRONICLE ARTICLE ABOUT OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY PARADE IN 2023
Our parade last year on July 4th celebrated 50 years of the Kingwood 4th of July Parade.  It was a huge parade which involved local businesses, organizations, City of Houston and Harris County services...and it was awesome!

About the Kingwood Civic Club

The Kingwood Civic Club, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is a group of concerned residents that are dedicated to serving the community and making Kingwood a desirable place to work, live, and raise a family.  Kingwood Rotary Club is a 501(c)4 community organization.
 
What Do We Do?
Our major fundraiser is our Kingwood July 4th Parade each year by selling Float Sponsorships/Donations to businesses and organizations.  We then use those funds to support local organizations such as the Lake Houston Y.M.C.A., and more.  Those funds also provide funds for next year's Parade, and also our Annual "Holiday Decorating Contest" held in all our community villages.
