Let's show our support and let our troops from the local area that are serving in harm's way know we love and support them!
Once again Kingwood Rotary is holding our "Cards For Our Troops" Project at The Union Kitchen where we meet each Monday at 5:30 PM. We'll have a basket in the entrance of The Union Kitchen near the hostess desk filled with Christmas & holiday cards. Guests can pick their favorite card, take it to their table and add a personal note of thanks and encouragement to a soldier to let them know you're thinking about them.
Children can also create cards at home and drop them in the basket.
How will the cards get to the troops? We're partnering with Blue Star Moms Houston to pack "Care Packages From Home" to fill boxs for our soldiers from the Kingwood/Houston area. We'll collect all the cards and place one inside each of the 250+ boxes we'll pack on November 28th for shipment to our local troops serving in harm's way overseas. These boxes will arrive just before the holidays. It's a great way to support our troops!
