Rotary District 5890 Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Students prepare to serve the foods they prepared from their home country to the guests.

The Rotary District 5890 Rotex Committee recently held their 3rd Annual "Taste of Nations" Social Event, and Kingwood Rotarians was one of the sponsors. At this event, the Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Students prepared their favorite dish from their home country for all of the guests to taste.  Everyone loved this opportunity to met the students, talk to them about their home country, and enjoy some delicious food.

Rotex are former Rotary Youth Exchange Students which were ambassadors and represented their local Rotary clubs, their Rotary districts, Texas, the U.S.A. and Rotary while they were abroad.   Once they return home, they are members of an elite, international group called Rotex.

Our Rotex here in District 5890 host social events for our Inbound students to help them get a better experience while in the host country. In some countries, they are advisers on the Rotary Youth Exchange committee for the District to help provide a younger opinion to the committee.  While Rotex is only a relatively new concept, Rotex clubs and associations are appearing rapidly around the globe and there are now Rotex clubs or associations in most of the countries that participate in Rotary Youth Exchange program.  These Rotex students also join Rotaract clubs which is Rotary's service organizations for 18-30 year olds interested in serving others and career development.
